Aimed at dedicated time trialists and triathletes, Argon-18's E-119 is aerodynamic, lightweight and beautifully integrated, to produce a highly competitive triathlon and time trial frameset. The pinnacle of Argon-18's efforts towards producing the most aerodynamic frameset possible, every measure possibly conceivable was taken to makes the E-119 superbly slippery and sleek. The E-119's tubing is uber deep and narrow for optimal aerodynamic gains. Advancing the concept of concealing the TRP brake calipers on Argon-18's other aero frames, they are completely covered on the E-119 for minimal air resistance. The AHB7600 carbon aero-bars produced by Argon-18 specifically for the E-119 are expertly integrated with the frame for minimal air resistance. However not just investing research into frame technology Argon-18 know that a rider is the the largest factor in how aerodynamic a bicycle is.
To fully capitalise on the significant aerodynamic advantages the E-119 possesses, its shortened geometry positions the rider further forward and lower, for optimal aerodynamic profile when riding, whilst making sure that weight distribution remains optimal. The E-119 is designed with Argon-18's 3D head tube system, offering 3 different handlebar heights, so each individual rider can find their best position for comfort and performance. Maintaining a flat back aero-position for extended periods of time is physically demanding and helping riders achieve a comfortable aerodynamic position is a significant factor in the E-119's high level performance. The 3D head tube system also has the advantage of being significantly stiffer and more aerodynamic than a traditional steerer tube spacing system for overall improved handling and speed.
In-keeping with Argon 18's “Optimal Balance” philosophy, the E-119 doesn't just excel in being aerodynamic, as excelling in all areas is what elevates a truly excellent Tri/TT frame above the rest. The E-119 frame is made from very high grade nanotech carbon fibre, allowing the tubing to be deep, narrow, thin and strong all at once, presenting a frame that is very aerodynamic; but also lightweight, stiff and strong. Argon-18's Horizontal dual system means that the carbon lay-up in the lower and frontal tubing of the bike is stiffer than the lay-up of the upper and rear tubing. This means the E-119 delivers impressive power transfer and handling, being rigid and responsive where it needs to be and providing comfort and therefore improved rider endurance, through being more flexible in the area around the seat tube. This lay-up process is expensive, time consuming and painstakingly detailed, but the result is a frame that takes all the areas of cycling performance to the next level. For ambitious and dedicated triathlon and TT riders the E-119 provides everything necessary to achieve top level performance and make your mark on the most demanding courses the world has to offer.
