2018 Whyte 29C S Matte Black/Lime

Whyte's 29C hardtail frame is stunning. A uni-directional carbon fibre multi-monocoque shell provides excellent stiffness, feel and strength, whilst also weighing in lighter than Whyte's aluminium 29er frames. It's XC race ready with a markedly more aggressive geometry than Whyte's other MTB's, with a sharper head angle and an oversize/undersize chassis design, both of which make for pin-point tracking, a key handling characteristic for XC. The 29” wheels roll brilliantly and carry their speed better than 27.5” wheels, making them ideal for a fast off-road machine. These design choices combine with Whyte's penchant for producing well balanced frames, inclined towards stability and control, to make for a race-ready frame that isn't overly twitchy or short. It's just as water-proof as Whyte's other bikes, utilising their DOX sealed inner cabling system and Whyte's unique weather proof seat clamping system.

A frame so finely crafted, is equipped with a Fox Float Performance SC 32 100mm fork and Shimano's XT M8000 groupset on the 29C S. Fox use their innovative “Step-Cast” fork design to produce a super lightweight fork capable of Fox's best dampening and shock absorbing performance, making it the benchmark for the world of XC racing. Shimano's XT M8000 groupset is an all-round high performer from its top level disc brakes, to its extra wide “shadow plus” rear mech, in charge of shifting through a whopping 11-46 tooth cassette, working with a RaceFace 34 tooth chainring to present a rather handy range of gears. Other mod cons include double sealed wheel hubs laced onto tubeless ready rims, which are fitted with tubeless ready tyres, so you have the full off-road package when it comes to wheels and tyres. Going tubeless has the benefit of reducing rolling resistance and reducing weight, as well as potentially making the difference between getting a race ending puncture or not. The 29C S is impeccably equipped to make fast work of any XC course, perfect for any off-road speed freaks out there.
