Brooks England

At the age of 20 John Boultbee Brooks established Brooks in Birmingham in 1866, after arriving in the city with £20 in his pocket. Despite these humble beginnings Brook's have always produced the highest quality goods. Originally producing leather harnesses and tackle for horses, Brooks turned to bicycle saddle making after Mr Brook's horse died in 1878 and he opted to try the unfamiliar and newfangled bicycle. Finding its saddle particularly uncomfortable, he swore to make a more comfortable one and the first Brooks prototype saddle was born. 10 years later Brooks launched the B17, a neat, light saddle, of the utmost quality and it's still their best selling saddle today. This small slice of history neatly sums up everything that is great about Brooks today. Still producing saddles of immaculate quality, Brooks have added bags and bicycle accessories to their range, all made from the finest materials for comfort and quality, to add a touch of class to any bicycle.

Brook's preoccupation with class and quality, extends to a firm belief in delivering brilliant performance. As Mr Brook's sore posterior demanded, comfort is one of a Brooks saddle's top criteria. Brooks saddles offer great fit and comfort, allowing you to ride for longer, and focus on getting the most out of your time on the bike. This philosophy of providing enhanced performance through comfort has seen Brooks become part of many milestones in cycling history. In 1903 at the first le Tour de France, many of the field were riding with brook's saddles. In 1936 Brook launched the lighter, sportier and slimmer Swallow model designed for speed and comfort. In 2013 Brooks introduced their cambium saddles to the world. Made from vulcanised natural rubber with an organic cotton canvas cover, these saddles are perfectly firm yet supple for superior comfort and the canvas finish means they aren't out of place in Brook's nostalgically styled range.

Brook's bags and accessories are held to equally high standards of elegance and function. The bags produced from English vegetable tanned leather and water-resistant, wax coated organic cotton canvas are designed to go the few extra thousand miles, with options for a 10 year guarantee and excellent customer reviews. All crafted carefully by hand, primarily in England and Italy, Brooks proudly stick to their high quality roots both in design and attention to detail. Brook's produce pretty much every bag design conceivable for the discerning cyclist. From backpacks and knapsacks to saddle bags and panniers, Brooks have a little something for everyone. Their accessories include a range of classic bar tapes and their newer more daring cambium bar tape. Gorgeous leather cycling clips and fundamentally sound waterproof jackets are also produced by Brook's. Brook's is a stylish and practical choice, perfect for anyone who wants the best quality for their luggage or rear.
