Orro's Gold STC frame mixes exquisite elegance with serious technological innovation, to produce a cyclists dream. Designed to be a quintessential Gran Fondo bike, the Gold STC has a well thought out endurance geometry brought to life with cutting edge materials, to produce a frame that is reliably comfortable and compliant for long rides, but also capable of transferring your power with race bike efficiency when you need it to. The STC in the Gold's name stands for Spread-Tow carbon fibre, made by English company Sigmatex, leaders in the carbon manufacturing industry. Using a wider carbon weave that requires less resin in laying up means the final product is more carbon and less resin making it lighter and stronger finish than conventional carbon production. This where the Gold STC gets its great power transfer and handling characteristics from, utilising the stiffest tonnage of STC around the bottom bracket, downtube and frontal area. Not just pre-occupied with power and producing a nailed racing machine Orro use progressively lower tonnage carbon up the seat tube and stays and along the top tube to help decrease road buzz and aid rider comfort.
Orro designed their Gold STC bikes to be efficient and easy to ride. This is reflected in the geometry, with the Gold STC's long and relaxed frame encouraging stability and absorbing vibrations and impacts from any rough road surfaces you may come across on a ride. The Gold STC's slacker than average head angle means it deals with imperfections in the road impeccably, maintaining momentum and control and therefore making it easier to ride over long distances. The low bottom bracket and long wheelbase encourages stability and makes for smooth and satisfying carving on bends. Combining the best materials, design and geometry that Orro have to offer, the Gold STC frame is simply a thing of beauty both stylistically and technologically. As such Orro offer a wide range of completed Gold STC frames with different components to suit different budgets and riding styles. Ultimately Orro recognise that a frame capable of excellent performance is most easily utilised to its full extent when its rider is comfortable and happy and that's what makes the Gold STC so special.
