Whyte point to the Fairfield as being a hybrid of their 29er mountain bike design and classic European style trekking bikes. This may sound an odd combination, but the result is a lightweight, highly durable and very comfortable bike, which Whyte classify as All-Terrain. Not built for hard nosed performance in one area, the Fairfield is instead built for good performance everywhere. You won't feel like you're riding something overly heavy or cumbersome on the roads and off of them you'll feel comfortable and secure. This makes the Fairfield ideal for unplanned adventure and discovery, as you can always rely on it to keep pace wherever it is. The 6061 hydro formed T6 aluminium frame is built with Whyte's unique seatstays to help maintain good performance and cushion the rider on any surface. The Fairfield women's frame is designed with a partially lowered top tube, to increase stand over height, without sacrificing the frames strength and leaving enough room for a bottle cage. Built with Whyte's BBX internal cabling system, the Fairfield's cables are weather-proofed and low maintenance. Mudguard and rear rack ready, this bike really does bend to your will, to do what you want with it.

To make sure that the frame's durability and multi-surface performance were matched by equally good components, Whyte started off by giving the Fairfield WTB rims and Maxxis Roamer 42c tyres, with kevlar puncture protection. These extra wide, puncture protective tyres offer their rider a large point of contact with the ground for extra traction, being particularly useful when off-road both for grip and helping the bike roll over smaller obstacles, loosing less speed and making for a more comfortable ride. To match the bikes go anywhere, perform anywhere attitude, Whyte opted for a full Shimano drivetrain offering 24 gears, to make climbs a doddle and flats a blur. Simple but effective, Tektro's forged V-brakes match the brief down to a tee. This very affordable bike gives its rider all the freedom to take part in a whole range of cycling experiences, whilst remaining simple and dependable.
