2018 Whyte Gisburn Gravel Lime

Whyte have used every ounce of their mountain bike knowledge to make their gravel/adventure frame extremely capable off-road, whilst also being fast and efficient when joining the dots on road. Borrowing heavily from their multi-award winning MTB geometry Whyte's adventure frame has a long wheelbase, with a low bottom bracket and a slack head angle, promoting excellent control and stability when hammering over the rough stuff. To make sure that the frame still manoeuvres exactly as you'd want it to, Whyte equip the Gisburn with their own 500mm wide drop bar for increased leverage over the front wheel, so that it can be simultaneously stable and reactive. In essence this allows you to go and have fun all over the place, from tight and twisty singletrack to beautiful wide open cross country routes.

The Gisburn is fully off-road ready, boasting the kind of spec you'd expect on one of Whyte's top-end hartails, to match the off-road aspirations of the MTB inspired geometry. The fun intentions the Gisburn is designed with are given away by the KS Speed UP 100mm dropper post it is equipped with. Normally the reserve of dedicated trail machines, the Gisburn's dropper post is an indicator of Whyte's confidence in its ability to handle tricky descents and tough trail like terrain. The Wide and robust WTB rims and 700x40C Maxxis Rambler tyres back up this statement of intent, providing excellent grip and control off-road, whilst rolling smoothly when on the asphalt. These rims and tyres are also tubeless ready, with tubeless set-ups becoming increasingly common off-road, due to their improved puncture protection, lower rolling resistance and ability to run lower tyre pressures for even greater traction. Finishing off this impeccable list of components is SRAM's top Force 1 groupset, matching a 10-42t cassette with a 40t chainring for a lower than low bottom end to power up climbs and a 40:10 flat-out gear. This also includes high performing SRAM Force hydraulic disc brakes, rounding out the Gisburn nicely.
